Overview: 

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Junior Commercial Manager to lead our commercial activities within the fashion industry. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and ensuring profitability. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the fashion market, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in commercial roles within the industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the company's objectives and market trends in the fashion industry.
  2. Key Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including retailers, distributors, and wholesalers. Manage contract negotiations, pricing agreements, and terms to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
  3. New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's market share and revenue streams. Develop strategic partnerships, distribution channels, and licensing agreements.
  4. Market Analysis and Intelligence: Conduct ongoing market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive dynamics within the fashion industry. Use insights to inform sales and marketing strategies.
  5. Sales Forecasting and Planning: Develop accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and targets based on market insights, historical data, and business objectives. Monitor performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
  6. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to achieve individual and collective goals. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to optimize team effectiveness.
  7. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and support for commercial initiatives. Communicate market feedback and customer insights to relevant stakeholders.
  8. Contract Management: Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and management of contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies.
  9. Performance Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track sales performance, market share, and profitability. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to provide visibility into commercial activities and outcomes.
  10. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges within the fashion industry landscape and develop strategies to mitigate them. Stay abreast of industry regulations, trends, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

  1. Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Fashion Management, or related field. MBA is a plus.
  2. Proven experience in a commercial or sales management role within the fashion industry, with a strong network of industry contacts.
  3. In-depth understanding of fashion market dynamics, consumer behavior, and product trends.
  4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  5. Strategic mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth, market expansion, and brand visibility.
  6. Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve ambitious targets.
  7. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  8. Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
  9. Flexibility to travel as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
  10. Passion for fashion and a commitment to staying updated on industry trends, innovations, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in managing commercial activities for fashion brands, retailers, or wholesalers.
  • Familiarity with international markets and global fashion trends.
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms, digital marketing strategies, and omnichannel retailing.
  • Experience in managing key accounts and strategic partnerships within the fashion industry.
