Junior Developer, Front End Banking Microservices

Role Overview

Build and maintain front-end interfaces that consume banking microservices, working closely with senior engineers to grow into a well-rounded platform developer.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive, accessible front-end interfaces for banking applications
• Integrate front-end components with microservice APIs and event-driven data feeds
• Write unit and integration tests for front-end code
• Collaborate with back-end developers to understand and consume service contracts
• Participate in code reviews and pick up feedback from senior engineers

Required Experience & Skills

• Working knowledge of Java 21 and awareness of newer Java (25/26) features, sufficient to understand back-end services
• Practical exposure to Spring Boot–based back ends (consuming, not necessarily building, services)
• Hands-on experience with a modern front-end framework (e.g. React, Angular or similar)
• Understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture from an integration perspective
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling is a plus

Other Requirements

• Based in Malaysia, eligible to work in Kuala Lumpur without sponsorship
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience with microservices architecture
• Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience with event-driven architecture
• Strong understanding of secure coding and data-handling practices appropriate to a regulated banking environment
