Laboratory Assistant

Job Summary

To conduct routine testing and ensure the incoming raw materials, chemicals and solutions and compounds conform to specification. Responsible for quality control, assurance of the consistency of supplied compound and assist in quality improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

1) Conduct routine testing

• To calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate analysis result


• To perform testing such as compounded latex, chemical dispersions and solutions etc.


• To ensure compounded latex, solution and chemicals conform to in house specifications before release to production floor


• To perform daily process control testing, monitoring and ensure conformance to process parameters and product consistency.


• To perform product analysis and physical testing


• To perform water quality testing for soft water and boiler

2) Assist and support in quality control and improvement

• To feedback to QA & RA Assistant if found abnormality and unhealthy trend in compound or parameter


• To assist in planning of compound and working as relief for compounding and process testing


• To assist QA & RA Assistant to carry out experiment, observation, monitoring and data collection and compilation

3) Do inspection and testing on incoming raw material

• To perform incoming raw material inspection, e.g. raw latex chemicals and solutions, formers, pigment according to specification and requirement.


• To feedback and update to Lab Supervisor and Process Engineer if any incoming material not meeting the product specification

4) Perform data documentation and storage

• To adhere laboratory standard procedure and equipment maintenance per recommended practice.


• Keep proper documentation and good laboratory practice.


• To perform testing and instrument according to standard procedure.


• To compile critical parameters results daily and monthly into softcopy


• Perform data entry on test results

5) Prepare of chemical solution

• To prepare chemical solutions as per requested by production line


• To prepare laboratory test solutions for internal testing usage

6) To support 5S activities

• To perform lab housekeeping per 5S concept and support safety policy, PPE, environment policy and continuous improvement

7) To do daily online testing record

• To fill in and update daily online compound testing properties to production

8) To do daily tensile report

• To update daily product tensile properties to production

Requirements:

1. Diploma in Science, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or SPM qualification


2. At least 2 years of working experience in lab work
