Legal and Compliance Manager, APAC (regional experience is a must) - Career Growth Potential

Job Purpose

As APAC Legal & Compliance Manager you will be responsible to regularly and proactively advise and support business on all legal and compliance matters across our APAC operations (except China)

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Interact effectively with business teams across APAC to understand business challenges and provide legal advisory
• Draft, review and negotiate all sorts of commercial contracts for various jurisdictions
• Manage outside counsels
• Take preemptive measures to avoid legal risks and conflicts
• Provide legal services and maintaining and coordinating contract administration
• Draft, review and implement company policies and regulations;
• Provide legal and compliance training and advise on new laws and regulations

Requirements
 

• Law degree and admitted to the Bar in Malaysia or Singapore or another APAC country
• Work experience as an attorney-at-law in a reputable law firm and as in-house counsel, preferably in the healthcare/medical industry of at least 5 years post bar exam
• Cross-cultural work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in English (verbally and in writing)
• Strong analytical skills, willingness to learn
• strong digital mindset, allowing the implementation of AI based contracting tools and willingness to professionalize the contract administration
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to work with multiple levels throughout the APAC organizations
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to function independently
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with personnel at all organizational levels
• Good team player, with sound judgment, proactive and pragmatic, hands-on mentality to work in a hectic environment; ability to prioritize and organize work effectively to meet deadlines
