Legal Executive - Fast Hire

Requirements:

• Minimum graduate of Bachelor of Laws (LL.B).
• Qualified and called as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya is an advantage.
• Post-qualified experience (PQE) of at least 2 years, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, authorities and external parties.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision, under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in dealing with external service providers, contractors/sub-contractors, vendors etc. is an added advantage.
• Good command in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in drafting documents in Bahasa Melayu, English, and Chinese.
• Knowledge in ISO Quality Management System will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all legal aspects of Company matters/activities, explain to the Management (and relevant departments) complex legal matters, provide legal advice, and keep up to date with changing legislation.
• Analyze, research and summary legal information.
• Prepare/handle legal documents (and related commercial documents), which include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating on documents such as letters, project/contract documents, LOI, LOA, NDAs, MOU, JV agreements, leases, licenses, etc
• Handle the legal aspects of internal and external disputes especially those involving governments and subcontractors.
• Interact with other corporate support functions and departments to ensure that the Company is well protected in matters that may subject to legal exposure.
• Provide guidance and assistance the Management, including training and coaching to various departments, to ensure all Company activities are conducted in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Support Management members in meeting corporate legal and regulatory obligations, in compliance review and monitoring of corporate policies, standards, procedures, etc.
• Coordinate on the legal aspect of internal audits.
• Ensure the integrity of corporate structure, entities, and records, and provide support to the persons-in-charge.
• Draft and implement specific procedures, guidelines, and templates, and to maintain and update contents on the company database, to ensure integrity and legal compliance.
• Manage and supervise outside counsels engaged by the Company in dealing with legal cases such as litigation, developing and advising strategies and resolution.
• Manage and control all legal related costs, such as legal fees and expenditures, cost impacts due to legal compliance and other legal functions.
• Participate in the implementation of Quality Management System
• Undertake other tasks as assigned by superiors from time to time.
