Legal Head - Competitive Pay

Leading a team of 3. You will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters pertaining to the company's operations. You will provide legal counsel and support to various departments, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, manage litigation and disputes, and contribute to the development and implementation of legal strategies to protect the company's interests.

Job Responsibilities: - 

• Provide expert legal advice and guidance to senior management and department heads on a wide range of legal issues affecting the company.
• Interpret laws, regulations, and contracts relevant to the company's operations and ensure compliance.
• Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Develop standardized contract templates and guidelines for use across the organization.
• Ensure that contracts comply with legal requirements and protect the company's interests.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulations and advise the company on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary and represent the company in legal proceedings
• Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Build strong relationships with leadership team, work closely with other departments, such as Risk Management and Operations, to implement risk mitigation measures.
• Establish key relationships with authorities, consultants to address legal needs effectively.
• Translate legal document from English to Mandarin or vice versa.
• Any ad-hoc task which is required by the management.

Job Requirements: - 

• Master degree or above in law-related major; Overseas legal education background and Malaysia bar is a big plus.
• More than 7 years of legal related working experience, with at least 3 years at reputable law firm.
• Have a solid foundation in law with strong legal logic thinking and professional analysis and communication ability;
• Strong contract drafting skills and with strong command of written & spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Self-Starter, creative, pro-active and enthusiastic.
