Job Scope
- To support librarian in evaluating how the library currently supports research, help identify areas that need improvement, and brainstorm ideas to enhance research services based on best practices and current trends.
- To collaborate with the librarian to discuss and select appropriate research instruments, identify potential interview candidates, and conduct interviews and survey as part of the user needs assessment.
- To key in and analyse interview research data in Excel. Assist the librarian in composing a user needs research report, and presenting the report.
- The intern expected to gather existing research materials (physical and online), obtain recommended reading list from the Research Enterprise unit, and prepare suggested book list for research.
- Support librarian in preparing proposal for mini research workshop for the university community, overseeing workshop preparation, including invitations and promotion, and compiling a report that details attendance, post-workshop feedback and communication to participants.
Essentials
- Candidate must possess or currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Library Sciences/ Information Management or equivalent.
- Good command in both written and spoken English and fast learner
- Able to work alone and in a collaborative team setup
- Good IT skills and experience
- Able to work during weekends, and late nights, if required.
