Lorry Driver - Continuous Learning Opportunities

Job Description:

Your primary responsibility is to ensure the timely and safe transportation of materials, finished products, and equipment to and from the factory. Your role is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of the carpentry production process and meeting delivery schedules. You will be responsible for driving a variety of vehicles, including lorries and trucks. 

Job Responsibility: 

1. Transportation of Goods and Materials:
• Safely load, transport, and unload good produced from factory to site, raw materials from supplier to factory, and other supplies needed for carpentry site works and production.
• Ensure that all materials are securely strapped or loaded to prevent damage during transportation.
• Verify the accuracy of delivery orders and ensure timely delivery of products.

2. Vehicle Maintenance:
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the lorry to ensure roadworthiness.
•  Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions promptly and coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs.

3. Adherence to Regulations:
• Strictly adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while driving.
• Keep abreast of transportation regulations and industry best practices.

4. Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, logs, and other relevant documentation.

• To jibble in for each starting point and jibble out for each destination point. 
• Ensure that all required permits and licenses are up-to-date and accessible.

5. Communication:
• Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, factory staff, and supervisors to coordinate loading and unloading activities.
• Report any delays, issues, or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.

6. Safety Protocols:
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines during the loading, transportation, and unloading processes.
• Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.

7. Efficiency and Time Management:
• Optimize delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries and fuel efficiency.
• Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.

8. Team Collaboration:
• Collaborate with warehouse staff, production teams, and other relevant departments to streamline logistics processes.
• Assist in loading and unloading activities when required.

Job Requirement: 

• Minimum SPM
• GDL Driving License
• Minimum 2 years' experience as lorry driver
