Lorry Driver cum Storekeeper - Collaborative Environment

We are seeking a skilled and responsible individual to fill the position of Lorry Driver cum Storekeeper. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to and from designated locations while also managing the inventory and storage of products in the warehouse. This role requires a combination of driving skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Driving Responsibilities:

• Operate a lorry to transport goods to and from specified locations.
• Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers or other designated destinations.
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations to maintain a clean driving record.

Storekeeping Responsibilities:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods and materials.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse to optimize space utilization.
• Keep accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and deliveries.
• Coordinate with other departments to fulfill internal requests for materials or products.

Loading and Unloading:

• Assist in loading and unloading goods from the lorry.
• Ensure proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transportation.

Maintenance:

• Perform routine checks on the lorry to ensure its roadworthiness.
• Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.

Documentation:

• Complete necessary paperwork, such as delivery notes, invoices, and inventory records.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of all transportation and warehouse activities.

Requirements:

Educational Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Licensing and Certification:

• Valid general driver's license (GDL) with a clean driving record.
• Certification in forklift operation (preferred).

Experience:

• Proven experience as a lorry driver with a track record of safe and punctual deliveries.
• Previous experience in warehouse operations or as a storekeeper is advantageous.

Skills:

• Strong driving skills and knowledge of road safety regulations.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Attention to detail in both driving and warehouse tasks.

Physical Fitness:

• Ability to lift and move heavy items.
• Good physical health and stamina.

Communication:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
