Jobresponsibilities

• Heavy truck and lorry drivers drive and tendheavy motor vehicles to transport goods, liquids and heavymaterials over short or long distances.
• Tasksinclude –
• Driving and tending a heavy motorvehicle, such as a lorry with or without trailer or a dump-truck,to transport goods, liquids or heavy materials over short or longdistances;
• Determining the most appropriateroutes;
• Ensuring that goods are stowed andsecurely covered to prevent loss anddamage;
• Assisting with or carrying out loadingor unloading operations, using various lifting or tippingdevices;
• Carrying out minor maintenance tovehicles, and arranging major maintenance andrepairs;
• Estimating weights to comply with loadlimitations, and ensuring the safe distribution ofweights.
