Job Title: Technician - Refrigeration System / M&E Equipment Servicing

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technician to join our team and provide maintenance and servicing for refrigeration systems and other M&E equipment, including cold rooms, blast freezers, chill rooms and etc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refrigeration technology, possess excellent troubleshooting skills, and be capable of independently diagnosing and repairing refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on refrigeration systems, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and replacing filters.
• Conduct regular inspections of cold rooms, blast freezers, and chill rooms to identify and address potential issues or malfunctions.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment problems, such as compressor failures, refrigerant leaks and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace defective components in refrigeration systems, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators and expansion valves.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure efficient operation and longevity of refrigeration systems.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of refrigeration operations.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and work performed, in service reports or maintenance logs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards while working with refrigeration systems and related equipment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other team members or junior technicians as needed.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in refrigeration system servicing and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Refrigeration Technician or similar role, preferably in commercial or industrial refrigeration systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various refrigeration equipment, including cold rooms, blast freezers, chill rooms and etc.
• Solid understanding of refrigeration principles, HVAC systems, and electrical components related to refrigeration.
• Relevant technical certification or vocational training in refrigeration and air conditioning.
• Experience in steel / copper / electrical welding will be an added advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency service calls outside of regular business hours, if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific refrigeration systems brands and models commonly used in commercial and industrial settings.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance related to refrigeration equipment operations.
