Manager, IT Governance - Opportunity to Make a Difference

Job Purpose

IT Governance forms the 1st line of defense to ensure cybersecurity and general governance standards and policies are developed, maintained, and adhered to. IT governance plays a crucial role in ensuring that an organisation’s IT activities align with its business goals and adhere to established policies and regulations. 

The Lead, IT Governance reports directly to the Head of IT Governance and Security. This role is responsible for managing IT cybersecurity, risk, and compliance covering the whole of IT and ensuring that all aspects of IT operations are in line with the organisation’s governance standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Establish and implement a framework and standard that often aligns with IT vision and mission while keeping Enterprise Risk Management in mind.
• Monitor and mitigate risks that could arise through the utilisation of IT products and services in the organisation. This would also include the assessment of the impact in terms of system change requests ,IT cybersecurity risks and provide the required support and advice on all matters of technology risks.
• Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations (i.e. ensuring compliance with BNM RMiT, NIST).
• Serve as advisor for areas under his/her purview, especially regarding leading the respective Heads of Unit to achieve the organisational goals. 
• Work closely with all IT departments to ensure that both IT strategy, operations, and governance are aligned to achieve the organisation’s aim. 
• Facilitate IT audit and risk assessment, including taking the lead to ensure completion of any such activities.
• Assume responsibility for other relevant tasks as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

Qualifications - Minimum a bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science, or Engineering/Science/Math.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in IT, with a mix of experience in IT functions such as IT risk management, IT vendor management, and IT security and compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to further develop and expand your skills in these areas.
• Experience implementing IT solutions for financial / banking / insurance fields would be advantageous. Direct experience in IT audit, IT compliance and IT cybersecurity implementation would also be advantageous.

Knowledge - Qualifications emphasising knowledge and skills in IT security, IT risk management and IT quality standards would be advantageous.

Skills/Competencies

• Cybersecurity, Risk, Audit, Governance.
• Excellent communication, writing, analytical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional certifications in IT Security such as CEH, CISA, CISM, and CISSP would be an added advantage.
