Role & Responsibilities: As part of the Global Litigation and Investigations Team within the General Counsel's Organization, and under the supervision of the Director - Legal Affairs, the Manager - Legal Affairs will lead a team of Team Leaders supporting third-party legal orders processing. The Manager - Legal Affairs will be responsible for the following:

  • Drive performance of the team including availability, productivity and quality.
  • Ensure proper onboarding of new colleagues, including monitoring of completion of enterprise training.
  • Develop expertise with navigating Amex platforms and using case management tools.
  • Monitor and report on team inventory, case completion and case aging.
  • Champion colleague efficiency, engagement, satisfaction, retention and talent development.
  • Implement process improvements relative to legal order processing.
  • Efficiently execute assigned project management office functions as required.
  • Support Manager & Counsel on large or complex legal order productions as required.
  • Manage and or escalate operations issues impacting the team to the Director - Legal Affairs.
  • Manage performance of Team Leaders, provide coaching and regular feedback and talent development.
  • Drive awareness within team of compliance with the US federal and state privacy laws.
  • Drive awareness within team of compliance Amex risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of legal requests.
Qualifications / Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelors' degree and/or other advanced degree in Business, Law or other related field.
  • Strong communication skills and fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong people management skills including coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Experience with managing teams as a Team Leader.
  • Experience with working with globally dispersed Leadership teams.
  • Experience supporting compliance, investigations, internal audits, RBST, PRSAs and BCP.
  • Ability to multitask, work productively under pressure, and execute on assigned tasks.
  • Able to demonstrate strong colleague centric understanding and build strong relationships with others on a global team.
  • Able to deliver results in accordance with business goals and objectives.
  • Sense of urgency, ability to discern critical matters.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, able to analyze and problem solve.
  • Able to quickly train on, navigate, and extract information from a variety of databases and information platforms.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
