- Implement the organization's R&D strategy by managing research activities in order to solve problems; and improve, or generate new, products, components, equipment, systems, and processes.
- Manage the day to day activities of a team of researchers/engineers whose activities may include devising research/development/technical methods; setting-up laboratory test equipment; building models and prototypes; calculating and analysing test results; preparing test plan; and designing prototypes.
- Lead the most complex, controversial, or significant research projects; evaluate findings; and prepare detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions.
- Estimate the costs, resources, and time required to implement the organisation's annual R&D goals and monitor the performance of research/development/ technical projects to ensure targets are met.
- Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with the external scientific community.
- Actively seeks out, researches and analyzes new trends in market and technology.
- Introduce new product innovations / concepts and relevant solutions to that match with the product development roadmap
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a research/development/technical team to ensure that research / development / technical activities are conducted within established budgets and according to established standards and procedures.
- Providing leadership and direction to direct team including recruiting, hiring, goals, resource allocation, utilization, performance management, professional development, coaching, inspiring, career pathing, succession planning and organization effectiveness
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in R&D new product design and product testing.
- At least 10 years of experience in Solidworks and CAD experience.
- An individual contributor and able to contribute to team success.
- An advantage is having own patent, able to think out of the box, and being willing to learn continuously.
- Demonstrate high commitment and willingness to take responsibility.
