The Manager, Submarine Cable Infrastructure is responsible for the planning, development, delivery, and lifecycle management of submarine cable systems and associated coastal and landing infrastructure. The role represents the organisation on all technical, commercial coordination, and governance matters relating to submarine cable projects, including consortium engagement, EPC oversight, CLS integration, and regulatory coordination.
This role ensures that submarine cable assets are delivered on time, within budget, compliant with regulatory requirements, and aligned with the organisation’s long-term digital infrastructure and data centre strategy.
Key Responsiblities
Lead the end-to-end management of submarine cable projects, from feasibility and consortium formation through installation, RFS, and operations.
Act as the primary interface with consortium members, EPC contractors, marine operators, and system suppliers.
Oversee CLS planning, integration, and readiness, ensuring seamless interconnection with terrestrial fiber networks and data centres.
Coordinate commercial and governance matters, including JV structures, term sheets, IRUs, capacity allocation, and reserved matters.
Manage project risk, schedule, budget, and quality, including marine surveys, installation windows, and acceptance milestones.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, permitting, and environmental requirements, liaising with relevant authorities and agencies.
Support strategic planning and expansion, including new cable systems, branching units, CLS enhancements, and future connectivity opportunities.
Prepare and present project updates, papers, and recommendations to management and board-level stakeholders.
