GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Manager – Systems is responsible for overseeing the management and operational stability of server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, operating systems, and core systems services to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations across the organization.
This role collaborates closely with Infrastructure, Applications, CyberSecurity, and external vendors to ensure systems operate in accordance with established service levels, security standards, and business continuity requirements, while supporting infrastructure modernization initiatives and minimizing operational risks and service disruptions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Systems Operations & Platform Management
- Manage daily operations of server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and operating systems.
- Oversee platforms including servers and supporting infrastructure services.
- Ensure systems meet availability, performance, and operational standards.
- Monitor system health and drive operational improvements.
- Ensure systems comply with security baselines and operational policies.
2. Technology Refresh, Capacity & Lifecycle Management
- Lead technology refresh, upgrades, and system lifecycle activities.
- Ensure upgrades and migrations are performed with minimal disruption.
- Monitor and manage system capacity, utilization, and performance trends.
- Plan and recommend capacity expansion and optimization initiatives.
3. Incident, Change & Service Management
- Manage resolution of major system incidents and ensure RCA completion.
- Ensure system changes follow change management processes.
- Ensure systems meet defined SLA, availability, and service performance targets.
4. Backup, Disaster Recovery & Security Compliance
- Oversee backup operations and disaster recovery readiness.
- Ensure DR drills, recovery testing, and RTO/RPO compliance.
- Ensure systems comply with security standards, vulnerability management, and audit requirements.
5. Team, Vendor & Asset Management
- Manage and mentor systems engineers and senior engineers.
- Coordinate vendor support and technical engagements.
- Maintain server and infrastructure asset inventory and lifecycle records.
- Ensure system documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures are updated.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
Knowledge and Experiences:
- 7–10 Years of Relevant Experience: Proven track record with hands-on experience in managing and maintaining enterprise server and infrastructure platforms.
- System Infrastructure Architecture & Design: In-depth understanding and experience in designing, architecting, and implementing server infrastructure to meet business needs and optimize performance.
- System Lifecycle & Technology Refresh: Experience supporting or leading system platform upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle replacement initiatives.
- Backup Infrastructure Management: Solid experience in designing, configuring, installing, and supporting backup infrastructure, including offsite backup solutions for data protection and business continuity.
- Disaster Recovery Expertise: Experienced in managing disaster recovery processes, with direct involvement in running disaster recovery drills and handling actual recovery situations.
- Cloud Operations: Hands-on experience with managing cloud operations (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly desirable, including migration, scaling, and optimizing cloud environments.
- Operational Governance & Compliance: Experience operating within security standards, operational procedures, and infrastructure governance requirements.
- Collaborative Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively in team environments, collaborating with colleagues at all levels of the organization to meet project goals and deadlines.
