Material Handler

Job Summary

Position Overview:  

The Material Handlers will perform the physical tasks involved in the staging of materials, parts, and supplies to and for automation manufacturing cells, material transit rooms, staging rooms, etc. The distribution and staging needs to occur in a fast-paced environment in order to facilitate continuous production. This position will be responsible to stage components used in manufacturing of product in a clean and safe environment and will need to adhere to cGMP within the cleanroom.

The Material Handlers will perform the physical tasks involved in the staging of materials, parts, and supplies to and for automation manufacturing cells, material transit rooms, staging rooms, etc. The distribution and staging needs to occur in a fast-paced environment in order to facilitate continuous production. This position will be responsible to stage components used in manufacturing of product in a clean and safe environment and will need to adhere to cGMP within the cleanroom.

During the Plant start-up this position will work during the core business hours. Business needs may necessitate the need to adjust shift start and end times and will require working in shifts.

Responsibilities:

 

• Follow the written work instruction, procedures to perform material handling, delivery to cleanroom work station, material storage and required inventory check.  

• Report and communicate with leaders and other function on problem finding.

• Work together with a team of material handlers, production operators and leaders to supply automation manufacturing cells, manual manufacturing operations and staging locations with all the materials and components needed for continuous production. 

• Communicate effectively with production and warehouse leaders to meet the needs of individual manufacturing operations.

• Timely and accurately stage materials and components in accordance with the production schedule.

• Fill trays with parts and components from pallets.

• Manage Kanban or WIP as needed via packing, transportation, etc.

• Performs other duties as required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Performs other duties as required.

 

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

• 2 -4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in Manufacturing Warehouse or Manufacturing Support environment.

• Experience working in the medical device industry.

• Self-starter capable of dealing with a variety of tasks in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

• Experience in a start-up production environment is a plus.

• Proficiency in Malay & must be proficient in basic English language to be able to read documentation, communicate, and write.

• Ability to understand and follow standard operational procedures and follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.

• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and other employees.

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.

• Good understanding of basic math and able to count accurately.

• Able to work effectively in a team environment.

• Able to perform tasks with accuracy and reliability.

• Must be familiar with ergonomic lifting techniques.

• Forklift/reach truck experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

• Must be able to lift and transfer loads up to 25kg.

• Must be able to stand and bend up to 12 hours a day.

• Required to lift above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.

• Pre-employment medical health check is required / Fit to work for this job by doctor.

• No history of back pain, neck pain, cervical or other related issues.

• No history of drug use.

• Regular checks will be performed.
