Mill Engineer

"This position will be based at any Palm Oil Mill (POM) across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, or Sarawak, subject to managements decision. Therefore, priority will be given to candidates who are flexible and open to relocation."

Aim of the job:

To assist Mill Manager to ensure compliance with all Company operating policies, procedures and standing instructions.

Main responsibilities and activities:

• To ensure all mill machines are well maintained for optimum operation of the processes
• Supervise subordinates to perform scheduled maintenance, repairs and installation of parts and machines
• Prepare daily/monthly/yearly reports and ensure engineers log book is filled for proper shift handover
• Comply with all the quality standard practised in the mill
• Implement preventive maintenance program for all plant and machineries
• Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed
• Ensure prompt actions/troubleshooting is taken when processing losses exceed the standard and provide adequate explanation for any deviation from the limits.
• Ensure the ISO/MSPO matters complied up to the standard

Requirements:

Basic education and training:

• Minimum degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 to 3 years experience
• Possess adequate leadership abilities to lead subordinates
• Able to arrange manpower and assign tasks to subordinates
• Able to prepare reports and paperwork related to mill operations
• Able to perform immediate troubleshooting when necessary
