Music Teacher- Secondary - Fast Hire

Job Responsibilities:

1. Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to Secondary Classes. 
2. Coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and taking lead in supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area.
3. Organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening. 
4. Maintains professional competence by attending and participating in staff development programs, curriculum development meetings and other professional activities. 
5. Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school include PTA, student clubs and after-school activities.
6. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.
7. Work closely with the Head of Music to:
   1. Keep him informed of projects, feedback. etc.
   2. Secure support in establishing meetings with departments
   3. Provide information regarding implementation of the curriculum and the subject area 
   4. Work on action plan as required
8. Teach music theory, aural skills, and practical techniques to students entering and preparing pupils for examinations
9. Acquire appropriate teaching materials and resources for music lessons
10. Motivate students and encourage progress in the student’s learning journey
11. Assess students' abilities, providing feedback and writing reports for parental feedback
12. Accompaniment or ensemble practice and performance
13. Working with other colleagues in group activities, such as camps and exam preparation

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree/Professional Degree in Music/Performing Arts Studies, Education/Teaching/Training or equivalent.
• Must be able to play/teach at least one musical instrument.
• 1-2 years of experience in teaching or related fields preferred; experience with IGCSE is preferred.
• Bright and cheerful personality. 
• Strong interpersonal skills, work with all levels of staff, professionals, parents and families, and community partners from diverse nationalities and cultures.
• Excellent communication skills – spoken and written English
