Help Desk & IT Support (Information & Communication Technology)

As a key member of our MVNE team, the System Engineer (SE) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all systems under IP-Tribe's care. The SE is entrusted with providing onsite/Remote support to meet the SLAs (Service Level Agreements) set with our esteemed clientele. Reporting directly to the Manager, the SE follows and creates documentation for operational procedures and troubleshooting steps, actively participates in relevant training sessions to enhance skills, and ensures adherence to SLAs.

We are seeking a candidate who not only understands the complexities of our Mission critical environment but also possesses the technical ability to be part of our team towards delivering quality support 24x7.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all scheduled internal Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions or on-the-job training.
  • Execute assigned tasks within project schedules or support tasks.
  • Develop or adhere to Method of Procedures (MOPs) for task execution, validated and approved by the Manager.
  • Track daily work hours and submit reports by the end of each business week.
  • Verify compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all work aligns with industry best practices and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain information security throughout employment.
  • Implement changes only upon approval of Change Requests (CRs).
  • Conduct relevant tests as needed.
  • Record and upload project information, reports, and testing results to SharePoint or other required platforms in compliance with regulations.
  • Assist with handover and takeover of completed works.
  • Coordinate project matters with all involved parties.
  • Attend and record minutes of relevant meetings.
  • Perform any additional duties as required.
  • Support Technical Assistance Center (TAC) duties upon request – this will be a 24/7 support duty on rotational basis within the team (TAC allowance applicable)

Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge

  • Polytechnic Diploma or bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.
  • 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications, IP telephony, or data networking support within the APAC region.
  • Proficiency in telecommunication, cybersecurity, IP telephony, AWS/Azure cloud Env, database management, Linux Operating Systems, or data networking.
  • Professional certifications in relevant areas are advantageous.

Skills and Personality

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently or with vendor assistance.
  • Motivated, results-oriented, and dedicated individual capable of initiating appropriate actions and strategies.
  • Self-sufficient and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Keen interest in staying updated with emerging technologies.
  • Capable of following instructions and devising problem-solving strategies.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.

The Network Operation Centre (NOC) that is newly setup in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be responsible for supporting & operating client solutions which have been deployed either by IP-Tribe or together with solution partners. The NOC will act as the Single Point of Contact (SPoC) via Managed Services contract for any system monitoring, health checks, general inquiries from interfacing systems, and outage management.
