Our Finance department is a fundamental part of Doctor Anywhere and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the company's financial stability. We are responsible for advising management on financial decisions that have a far reaching impact on the company's future.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team who will be supporting our Malaysia entities' day-to-day finance operations.

The ideal candidate will have a mindset of continuous improvement and change,  demonstrate curiosity, collaboration and the ability to deal with ambiguity, especially in a start-up environment. You are passionate about providing excellent internal client support across the entire organization and with prior experience in accounting and audit. 

This role is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia and reports directly to the CFO in Singapore Head Office and dotted-line reporting to the General Manager in Malaysia.

A summary of the key responsibilities are as follows:

• Partner with the respective Business Units (local and regional) / Country GM to ensure proficiency and effectiveness when managing the operations of the Finance team


• Engage in the full spectrum of the accounting functions (AP, AR, GL), treasury operations and taxation for timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financials


• Develop Accounting procedures and administration in compliance with the Group policies / guardrails


• Provide support to the Group FP&A team, including but not limited to, budgeting exercises and forecasts / monthly management reporting and analysis


• Contribute to the safeguarding of company assets through the maintenance of appropriate controls while supporting the Group Finance in the determination of appropriate accounting treatment 


• Provide mentorship and guidance to the team members when required 


• Key point of contact for the Group when liaising with the local statutory authorities, banks, tax agents and auditors


• Oversee the yearly audit exercise and assist in the preparation of audit-related schedules and documentation 


• Identify, discuss and suggest solutions in consultation with the management for continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of operation


• Any other ad hoc duties as assigned 

About you

• Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration or ACCA graduate with minimum 4-5 years of experience in a similar capacity


• Prior experience in mid-tier audit firm and/or healthcare industry will be an added advantage


• CA or CPA preferred


• Knowledgeable and experienced in accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, audit and taxation


• Proficiency in relevant accounting software preferably in Oracle NetSuite and MS office / G-suite applications


• Meticulous, independent, proactive, responsible, able to multitask and meet tight deadlines


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Unquestioned integrity and high standards in the work you do

• Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible to learn new things - we’re not done growing, and heading into uncharted territories is part of the fun!
