Role Brief: The Network Data Admin is tasked with ensuring the seamless operation and high availability of the organization's network infrastructure. This role encompasses continuous monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting efforts across network devices and links to minimize operational disruptions and enhance the overall user experience. The Network Data Admin engages in various levels of network operations, from proactive monitoring and incident resolution to advanced troubleshooting and system recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and Maintenance:
• Engage in 24x7 monitoring of site, switch, router, and link availability to ensure uninterrupted network service.
• Set up and manage thresholds for switch and router CPU usage, memory usage, and link utilizations to prevent performance bottlenecks.
• Execute configurations for switches, routers, ports, and VLANs, while also monitoring critical metrics such as CPU/memory usage and port status.
• Manage network configuration settings, including IP addresses, subnet masks, DNS settings, and more.
• Generate, process, and filter alarms related to network health issues.
• Oversee link bandwidth utilization, incident and request services monitoring, and device availability.
• Monitor SD-WAN devices from the controller, focusing on aspects such as load balancing and link health.
• Escalate unresolved network issues to the L2 team for further analysis and resolution.
• Troubleshoot and recover switches, routers, and links in the event of outages.
• Test and monitor the availability of backup links.
• Utilize historical data to provide trend-based consultancy and capacity planning.
• Implement selective resource access and authentication protocols in line with Cisco IOS standards.
• Oversee device configuration, backup management, and firmware upgrades.
• Optimize WLAN configurations and maintain an up-to-date online WLAN network dashboard.
• Provide comprehensive availability and security reports for the WLAN.
• Coordinate with vendors for device management, report generation, and troubleshooting.
• Manage SD-WAN device and link troubleshooting, policy configuration, and CPE management.
• Implement privilege rights and encrypted password management to bolster network security.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents and analyze repeat incidents/alerts.
• Recommend performance enhancements based on OEM suggestions.
• Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies.
• Organize and execute DR drills, while maintaining and updating SOPs and knowledge bases.
• Monitor bandwidth utilization, conduct data and application-wise analysis, and manage licenses for WAN acceleration devices.
• Proactively manage image/firmware upgrades to ensure optimal device availability.

Skillsets:

• Expertise in network monitoring tools and methodologies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network protocols, configuration standards, and troubleshooting practices.
• Proficient in SD-WAN technology and configuration settings.
• Capable of managing high-pressure situations and resolving incidents efficiently.
• Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and external vendors.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, WLAN configuration, and network security protocols.
• Experienced in incident, request, and change management procedures.
• Proactive in risk identification and mitigation, with a commitment to continual service improvement.
