NPI Engineer (Mechanical Division)

• Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for CNC machining projects, ensuring timely and successful execution.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new CNC machining processes and technologies.
• Provide technical support and leadership on capital projects, including the selection of appropriate equipment and improvement solutions.
• Define project scope and develop user requirements for CNC machining projects.
• Create NC programs and conduct 3D CAD/CAM simulations to optimize machining processes.
• Prepare work instructions to communicate proper set-up and operation of manufacturing processes.
• Develop effective work-holding solutions for CNC machining to improve productivity and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the NPI process.
• Assist in the design, installation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment such as jigs, fixtures, and instrumentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of new CNC machining projects.
• Prepare process documentation, including manufacturing specifications, FMEA, control plans, and OMS (Operating Manual system which include standard operating procedures (SOPs) etc.)
• Conduct process optimization studies to improve cycle time, quality, and efficiency of CNC machining operations.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address machining defects and non-conformities.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance to CNC machinists and operators on best practices and new processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Candidate must posses at least Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining operations, with at least 2 years in an NPI or project management role.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, equipment, and tooling.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining techniques such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding.
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining processes, including CNC 5 axis, CNC Multi-axis turn mill, CNC 3 axis & CNC 3+1 axis machines.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for CNC programming and simulation (e.g., Siemens NX, Esprit, Mastercam, Catia and SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control standards.
• Familiarity with quality assurance techniques and standard documentation requirements (e.g., PPAP, DOE, DFM, 8D reports).
• Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, AS9100 etc.) and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) activities.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure on-time and within-budget completion of NPI projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Project management experience, including planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Working based in Sungai Petani under Morrissey Integrated Dynamics Sdn Bhd (Subsidiaries of JHM Consolidation Berhad).
