Job Description

Work with your employer to assist them in caring for child facing mental health issues covering ADHD, Anxiety and Disruptive behaviour. The goal is to:

• Assist the affected Child and family to realise stability and fulfilment in their daily lives, thereby allowing the Child to meet his development milestones;
• Work with child health experts including Psychiatrists, Psychologists and other medical care professions to develop a long-term care plan for the child;
• Build self-confidence and emotional regulation in the Child to allow him to socialize with those around him;
• Work with educators to re-start the Child’s academic journey;
• Play and be an additional leg of support for the Child along- side his parents who care dearly for him;
• Organise outings and excursions for the Child;
• Maintain detailed records of treatments and interventions to craft the best path for the Child.

Job requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma or higher level of relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy / Nursing;
• Previous experience as a Nurse / Therapist who has experience in dealing with intense children or children suffering from similar mental health issues is a plus; 
• 2 or more years of relevant working experience in the related field is required;
• Employer will apply for a valid Work Permit from Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower for approved Candidate;
• Physically strong but also gentle;
• Willing to move to Singapore;
• Ability to show empathy to the Child and his family;
• Good command of English and working knowledge of Mandarin and/or Malay;
• Proactive, diligent and responsible character;
• Ability to multitask;
• Good conflict resolutions skills and have a good sense of judgement;
• Possess a valid driving license and ability to drive a passenger car

Employer Overview

The Employer has business operations in both Singapore and Malaysia, and needs help to care for his mentally challenged child. This individual will be treated as a professional but also as valued member of the family.

Interview to be conducted in person in Kuala Lumpur. Short-listed candidates will receive a 5 day (paid) trial visit to Singapore to meet with the family and Child.

Additional Info: 

• 5-day work week. 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, with occasional evening, public holiday or weekend duties to be agreed in advance with the employer;
• Home based;
• Meals provided (if so desired, Halal or non-Halal);
• Valid work permit approved by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower will be provided;
• Additional training in Singapore will also be paid for and provided;
• External living arrangements to be paid for by the employer;
• 20 days of home leave;
• Salary excludes all relevant government levies that will be paid for the employer;
• Two paid return tickets to city of residence in Malaysia per annum;
• Performance bonus based on improvements in the Child’s health;
• Medical allowance towards the purchase of private insurance or use by employee of wellness activities;
