Established in 2010, Joshijosh Enterprise is an events and catering company based in Ara Damansara, PJ. From delicious packed meals to elaborate buffet spreads for a wedding, we cater for any events and reservations. We are halal certified, and our menu encompasses a wide range of varieties suitable for any occasion: wedding reception, birthday party, exhibition function, dinner buffet, corporate lunch, house warming, gourmet canapé, family gathering as well as packed food delivery services.

Joshijosh Events & Catering strictly adheres to and complies with JAKIM's Halal Certification by ensuring that every operating process and every meal served meets the requirements & demands set by Malaysian Halal Certification Procedures Manual in order to fulfill customers' trust to ensure halal and quality meals are served.

Position Summary: 
The  Operations Manager oversees the broad logistics for a busy catering operation, as well as the team of delivery drivers, ensuring the guest experience is seamless by managing the extensive details and routing for events to ensure that every delivery is on time and accurate. This individual is the point person and organisational backbone at Headquarters and through whom all operations information flows, liaising between the Kitchen, Sales and Events, and Events Management Teams.


Job Requirements
Duties and Responsibilites:

Daily Operations:

  • Manage day to day operation activities of the catering department, including scheduling drivers and wait staff in accordance with the demands of the business.
  • Review all Event Orders to determine staffing levels, distribution and execution of events.
  • Facilitate communication between the sales, culinary and event management teams to ensure accurate timing, production and fulfilment of all daily orders, including last minute needs, in a way that is efficient and supportive for the team.
  • Payroll Management - Maintaining all staff payroll in Kronos system; ensure that payroll is submitted accurately each Monday.
  • Manage Catering vehicle fleet including maintenance and all expenses incurred. Includes 6 vans, 1 box truck. Handle insurance claims, vehicle maintenance, repairs and fuel management. Ensure cleanliness of vehicles each day.
  • Supervise all catering deliveries and ensures Catering standards are met through spot checks and training of delivery staff.
  • Supervision and Staff Scheduling - Schedule, assign work and ensure the staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.
  • Coach, counsel and retrains personnel as needed in order to ensure superior levels of performance
  • Utilize the Kronos on-call Staffing System to fill open shifts appropriately based upon business needs and events. Schedule temporary waitstaff as needed.

Ordering:

  • Order all items necessary for events including linen, paper goods and coffee.
  • Establish appropriate par levels for all banquet equipment and supply inventories, so as to support forecasted activities without experiencing shortages or excessive inventory situations
  • Order all smallware items and employee uniforms

Basic Qualifications:

  • Hospitality-related Diploma and at least 3 years prior front of the house catering experience with off-premise or hotel catering operation.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel). Ability to learn other software applications as needed.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness/ability to drive.

  • Good professional judgment and ability to independently make sound business decisions.
  • Must be adaptable to a frequently changing environment and ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
