Intensive English Academic Programme

Within IGB International School, the Intensive English Academic Programme is an exciting, newly developed pathway to support students wanting to enrol in international programs (PYP, MYP, DP, CP) but do not have the required English level to be accepted into these programs yet. The Intensive English Academic Programme has been created to support students with English language acquisition and to learn core curricular skills and concepts in a customized, English-rich, ESOL environment. 

Job Description

As an Intensive English Academic Programme teacher, the selected employee will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and effective instruction in Physical Education (PE), tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Their responsibilities will encompass designing and implementing curriculum plans aimed at fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Additionally, the teacher will undertake the responsibility of assessing student progress, provide constructive feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience. While the teacher will serve as the subject specialist for some  teaching sessions, they will also dedicate time to working as a co-teacher in the homeroom, providing support to students with English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) needs in core curricular subjects. 

Responsibilities include:

• Set high, yet appropriate, expectations for student progress and achievement.
• Design curriculum and facilitate inquiry-based learning aligned with the school's mission, vision, motto, and pillars.
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and exercises that cater to diverse student needs and abilities.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their physical development and growth.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported to achieve their fitness goals.
• Collaborate with colleagues and parents to promote the importance of physical education and wellness within the school community.
• Organise and supervise extracurricular sports programs, events, and competitions to enhance students' overall athletic experience.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
• Have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience as a PE Teacher or coach. 
• Possess a recognized TEFL, CELTA, TESL, TESOL, EFL, ESL, or EAL certification, showcasing specialized training in language teaching methodologies for non-native speakers will be an added advantage. 
• Strong knowledge of physical fitness principles, sports techniques, and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
• Passion for promoting health and wellness and fostering a positive attitude towards physical activity.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices in physical education instruction.
• Teachers with homeroom experience and expertise in their subject are highly encouraged to apply.
