Principal Mechanical Engineer - Hydropower

We are looking for passionate and technically skilled engineer to join us as a Principal Hydropower Engineer - Mechanical in our Energy market in Malaysia with opportunity to lead projects around the region and across the globe. You will be involved in exciting projects in hydropower sector such as pumped storage hydropower projects.  The role will be based in Malaysia office.

You will be part of a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team and your job description includes:

• Providing electro-mechanical technical capabilities in hydropower and support projects around the globe.


• Responsible for managing external stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and pursuing and promoting opportunities with potential and established clients.


• Developing, maintaining and monitoring programmes for scheduling and reporting on deliverables across specific projects.


• Maximising profitability of projects, monitoring against budget, reacting and anticipating potential problems and communicating in line with client expectations.


• Demonstrating technical expertise, providing in depth knowledge and leadership whilst proactively coaching and developing more junior team members.


• The design of mechanical balance of plant system, such as drainage, dewatering and emergency system, cooling water system pipe works, etc.


• To undertake overseas travel as required. Generally, visits would normally be of one or two weeks duration but longer visits may be required, there is also potential by mutual agreement for longer term overseas postings


• Having hydromechanical and gates experience will be an added bonus.

About you

• Bachelor's/Master's in Mechanical Engineering, minimum of 12 years experience,


• Knowledge of hydropower and pumped storage


• Strategic leadership and client engagement


• Experienced in supporting large-scale hydropower projects through mechanical design, coordination, and delivery.
