Procurement and Logistic - Dynamic Team

Job Overview: The Automotive Procurement cum Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing procurement and logistics activities specific to the automotive industry, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of parts, materials, and components required for manufacturing and aftermarket operations. This role involves sourcing automotive components, coordinating transportation, and optimizing logistics processes to support production schedules and aftermarket service requirements. 

Job Description

Procurement:

• Source and procure automotive parts, components, and materials from domestic and international suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate pricing and terms, and establish strategic partnerships to ensure a reliable supply chain.
• Monitor supplier performance, track delivery schedules, and address any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify component specifications and sourcing requirements.

Logistics:

• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Optimize transportation routes and modes (e.g., trucking, rail, ocean freight) to minimize costs and lead times while maintaining service levels.
• Monitor inventory levels and track shipments to ensure timely delivery of automotive parts and materials to manufacturing facilities and distribution centers.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
• Collaborate with logistics service providers and carriers to resolve transportation issues and optimize logistics processes.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and regulations, including quality management and customs requirements.
• Manage import/export documentation and customs clearance processes for international shipments, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks assigned by superiors, such as participating in special projects, conducting research, preparing reports, or assisting with departmental initiatives.

Job Requirement

• Candidate MUST possess at least STPM, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in business and or a related field.
• Previous experience in procurement and logistics roles within the automotive sector, with knowledge of automotive parts sourcing and transportation.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, industry conferences, or logistics-related activities.
• Good command in English.
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.

Knowledge:

• ISO 9001, TS & IATF.
• Royal Malaysia Custom's import and export regulation.
• Malaysian tariff codes.
• Forwarding rulings of foreign countries where we have export and/or import activities.
