Procurement Manager - Leading Industry Pay

Purpose of the position

The candidate is expected to orchestrate procurement strategies, policies, guidelines, procedures, and systems to ensure competitive sourcing.

A well-driven and independent worker to drive procurement excellence and safeguard company’s interest.

Candidate is also required to take pre-emptive steps in ensuring international shipping of goods are conducted in a seamless manner - identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and improve overall procurement and shipping performance.

Logistic & Customs Clearance

• Monitor & co-ordination deliveries between suppliers, logistics, freight forwarders, custom agents and end user, and ensure timely delivery / arrival of goods.
• Optimization of product & supplies traffic to support the business & project.
• To perform customs handling, import duty exemption and any other relatable duties to facilitate movement of cross-border goods.
• Ensure competent quality execution of all logistics and purchasing administrative & documentation works, fulfilling authority’s requirements whenever required.
• Assist in purchase of Marine Insurance & Inland Transit Insurance.
• Freight & logistical service provider sourcing and negotiation, contracting and management.

Strategic Procurement

• To strategize & make strategic recommendation on procurement activities to Management based company’s program / project management portfolios. Establish synergies between various sourcing activities and develop strategic plan for tender negotiation to achieve cost savings.
• Prepare and implement alternative procurement sources to balance the dimensions of productivity, quality, safety, and availability.
• Communicate with various departments to meet deliverables and build relationships with key stakeholders to gather requirements while attending to company’s culture of long-term saving on purchasing cost.
• Be responsible for supplier relation management, implementing supplier business reviews and building long term business relationship to drive supplier performance in sustainable and systematic ways.
• To monitor the tender process, make recommendations on methodology to achieve completeness of supply and minimize future scope changes.

General Support

• Stay up to date with tax regulations, maintaining meticulous records to ensure compliance with customs authorities.
• Support and early involvement of major projects’ procurement planning.
• Develop procurement standard and policy to assure high and industrial standards are adopted and adhered to.
• Develop supply chain in SEA geographies, assure these supply chain meet local regulation and comply with the industrial standard.

Requirements:

• Possesses Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Logistic Management, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managing procurement activities in similar environment and experience in shipping & logistics coordination.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in managerial position in large scale manufacturing company.
• Strong knowledge of shipping regulations and requirements and shipping/logistic operations will be an added advantage.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written & spoken). Mandarin language skill will be an added advantage.
• Dynamic, independent, and a team player with excellent communication skills.
• Must be well-organized person, good time management, execution ability and attentive to details.
• Proficient in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Possesses SAP knowledge & skill in procurement & logistic function will be an added advantage.
