Product Engineer 4

Job Responsibilities

1. A Product Engineer 4 will represent Global Product Engineering/Mechatronics in support of the high volume manufacturing of electro mechanical devices that are globally distributed to Lam customers and suppliers.
2. Takes a front-line technical role: responding to questions, removing roadblocks, ensuring quality, and facilitating close collaboration between product engineering, suppliers, and global operations personnel.
3. Will become a subject matter experts on incoming component quality and assembly methods required to ensure performance and reliability, particularly of robotics motion.
4. Participates in cross functional global product transition teams and manages product engineering deliverables for supplier production release.
5. Participates in training and quality development and ensures that product engineering’s best known methods are adhered to in manufacturing and product final test.
6. Responsible for planning, implementing, and managing engineering support of manufacturing and production processes.
7. Performs problem solving and recommends updates or changes to quality standards and procedures.

Other Job Responsibilities

1. Understand and assist with testing of electromechanical products.
2. Be familiar with failure analysis, process development, application flows, material issues, and system interconnects.
3. Coordinate with other groups and organizations for design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing to solve product issues and production problems.
4. Provide oversight and guidance in suppliers’ quality performance for consistent and reliable products.
5. Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to coordinate continuous improvement and qualification activities.
6. Be a lead advocate for your product across company organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Minimum 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s degree in the following fields (but not limited to): Electrical, Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering and Robotics.
2. Working knowledge of Statistics Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D and 5-Whys Problem solving.
3. Competent user of MS office tools (ppt, excel, project).
4. Previous experience in cross-functional project management.
5. Previous experience leading technical projects.
6. Comfortable with travelling and working with global team.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Understand GD&T and commonly used drawing standards.
2. Experience assuring compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards.
3. Individual and team contributor.
4. Self-starter and go getter attitude.
