As Production Coordinator at MKS, Malaysia, your responsibility is supporting daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are executed efficiently, and coordinating activities between different departments to meet delivery, quality, and cost targets. In this role, you will report to the Production Manager.
 

Principal Responsibilities

• Assist production supervisor to coordinate and monitor daily production schedules to ensure timely completion of manufacturing orders.
• Schedule & Workflow Planning: Releasing work orders, allocating jobs to specific machinery, and updating production timelines based on order priorities
• Material & Inventory Control: Ordering consumable materials, tracking stock levels using stock cards or ERP/MRP systems, and issuing material requests to prevent line delays.
• Interdepartmental Liaison: Connecting the shop floor with purchasing, quality assurance (QA), warehousing, logistics, and sales teams to hit shipping targets.
• Performance Monitoring: Tracking machine downtime, recording output metrics, managing scrap or waste levels(MRB), and reporting bottlenecks to management.
• Maintenance & Safety Compliance: Arranging equipment repairs with engineering teams and enforcing workplace safety protocols or ISO documentation.
• Track production progress and update status reports to management.
• Identify potential production delays or bottlenecks and escalate proactively.
• Assist in implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Support preparation activities for audits, customer visits, and Factory Acceptance (FA).

Required Skills:

• Diploma in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Oracle systems knowledge is an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing/production floor with regular interaction across departments.
• May require extended hours during peak production or critical milestones.
