PROJECT MANAGER

Job Description:

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the project from start to finish, including pre- construction meetings, construction meetings, actual to budget financial reporting and post- completion meetings. The project manager will also be responsible for the coordinating with the client, contactors, sub-contractors, and other vendors.

Reporting to the Manager of Project Management, Alpha Galaxy Project manager provides management of technical and administrative aspects pertaining to construction contracts and related project initiatives.

The Project Manager is responsible for exercising a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism, while building relationship and working with key roles throughout all levels of the company.

Duties:

Project planning and Initiative:

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop project plans, Including work breakdown structure, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Obtain necessary approvals and support for project initiation.

Project Execution and Control:

• Analysing architectural designs and plans
• Ensuring all designs meet industry standards and government regulations
• Manage the day-to-day activities of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedule
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide regular status updates to Top Management.
• Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
• Manage project budgets and expenses, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial guidelines.
• Resolve project issues, conflicts, and changes by applying effective problem-solving and decision- making techniques.
• Implement project management best practices and methodologies to improve project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and quality requirements.
• Able to negotiate with the local authorities on building requirements
• Is aware or knowledgeable in building steel structure buildings.
• Researching and inquiring about different materials
• suggest cost effective ideas without compromising on quality
• Undertaking regular site visits and inspections
• Oversee and make recommendations throughout entire construction process

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, including engineers, designers, technicians, and sub-contractors.
• Set clear expectations, provide guidance, and mentor team members to ensure project success.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
• Facilitate meetings, discussions, and reviews to drive project progress and resolve any challenges.
• Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to ensure alignment and timely project delivery.

Risk Management and Quality Assurance:

• Identify project risks and develop risk management strategies to minimize their impact.
• Conduct regular project risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform project reviews and quality control measures to verify compliance with specification from architect and client requirements.

Project Documentation and reporting:

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, reports, and technical specifications.
• Prepare project progress reports, highlighting key milestones, issues, and risks.
• Communicate project status, progress, and results to senior management.
• Project Manager must exercise the contract clauses to ensure all contractors are aligned with requirement by management.
• Identify all contractors claimable amount with reference to contract and site inspection.

Requirements

• Masters in civil and structure ( C&S ) engineering
• PHD in civil and structure ( C&S ) engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager.
• In depth knowledge of construction and engineering principles, practices, and project management methodologies.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in software tools such as ( AutoCAD ) and management software.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in construction and engineering project.

Ability to work after working hours

Job Type: Contract

Pay: RM12,000.00 - RM17,000.00 per month

• Setia Alam: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
