Purchaser - Urgent Role

Job Responsibilities

• To constantly source for new suppliers and improve existing supplier to get a better deal.
• To obtain building materials and services of the quality and quantity needed.
• To build and maintain good relationship with suppliers.
• To review purchase requisition and determine proper purchasing method.
• To obtain quotations from at least 3 suppliers for comparisons before issuing purchase order.
• To obtain building’s colour scheme from relevant supplier for further painting job.
• To obtain relevant laboratory for CBR test and Coring test on site.
• To obtain supply and installation services of sign plates, construction board and road sign.
• Negotiate with supplier on payment term and condition to obtain best cost saving for the company.
• Liaise with supplier & site supervisor for the unacceptable goods or services and take corrective action.
• Monitor and confirm expected goods delivery dates and follow up undelivered goods.
• To prepare monthly report for all related information required for top management further discussion: 

a. Aging report – invoices exceed RM100,000.00 of the month.

b. Monthly Purchase Order report - item purchased list of the month.

c. Material Price List Report - price comparison for item purchased of the month.

• To ensure effective purchasing process and continuous improvement is carried out from time to time.
• Update purchasing pricing and keep quotation files for future reference. 
• Study the building materials specification and information to be able to familiarize on the items purchased.
• Help on data entering (monthly invoices and delivery order) to purchasing system when required. 
• To perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by project director from time to time

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in purchasing line.
• Excellent sourcing and analytical skills.
• Possesses strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Meticulous and have close attention to detail.
• Work well under pressure, independent and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills and time management.
• Exhibits good mathematical abilities.
