"QA and Operations Assistant Manager - Generous Compensation

Job description:

The QA and Operations Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the quality assurance and operational activities within the generator assembly factory. This role entails monitoring production processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, managing staff, and collaborating with other departments to enhance productivity and efficiency.

1. Quality assurance oversight
   1. Drive a high quality standard which meets the customer’s requirements
   2. Develop and implement Quality Policy and procedures, conducting briefings and updates to the team regarding the monthly collected non-conforming result during the inspection with tools such as pareto chart.
   3. Plan and document inspection procedures for end to end generator set assembly and testing. 
      1. This includes inspection regarding new and existing products as well as incoming and outgoing goods and materials related to power systems and generators.
   4. Carry out quality inspection activities according to instruction and maintain proper records of work in progress and finished goods.
      1. Ensure QC document completeness and accuracy.
   5. Facilitate communication between Management and Production with regards to QA / QC matters, whether this is through leading meetings or using other communication platforms.
   6. Update production notice boards regarding work instructions, work procedures, quality metrics,  safety issues and non-conforming activity photos and charts collected during inspection.
   7. Analyze production data and quality reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.

1. ISO 9001 Compliance, Execution and Improvement
   1. Ensure that the quality system meets the ISO 9001 certification requirements.
   2. Initiate and participate in internal audit to assess the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
   3. Initiate and lead Management Review Committee to review results of internal and external audits conducted.
   4. Oversee the proper maintenance and calibration of production equipment as this is related to quality and ISO
   5. Drive continuous improvements internally
   6. Conduct Non-conformance management - Review and verify non-conforming materials arising from incoming materials, in-process, completed and sub-contracted parts as per QC inspection checklist and report the non-conforming parts with photos to vendor or recipients immediately.
   7. Responsible for corrective action (CAR) activities as per ISO requirements, any CAR or NCR must be close in a timely manner.
   8. Conduct supplier quality audits and supplier risk assessments. Implement necessary recommendations for continuous improvement

1. Leadership and Development
   1. Provide leadership and direction to the operations and quality assurance teams for quality improvement
   2. Organize training sessions for staff on quality standards and production techniques.
   3. Conduct performance evaluations and recommend necessary personnel actions.

1. Safety Compliance
   1. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
   2. Maintain a safe work environment and promote a strong culture of safety among staff.

1. Operation support
   1. Assist in the management of day-to-day operations in the production area.
   2. Assist Production team in planning and executing Production Schedule, filing of project file, project costing analysis & production admin.
   3. Ensure that production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved.
   4. Follow up for customer PO, maintaining system Sales order and Project builder creation.
   5. Carry out any other operation support task as assigned by Production Manager.

Minimum requirements.

• Min Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering. 
• At least 4-6 Year(s) of working experience in the related field – generator set assembly QA/QC is required.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance techniques and methodologies
• Experience in management of people at work
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills. 
• Ability to influence and motivate others positively in a work environment
• Working experience in metal fabrication or machine industry will be an added advantage.
• Possess at least a NIOSH certificate and registered with JKKP. 
• Must possess Certificate In schedule Waste Management (DOE) / Green Book Holder.
• Must  be familiar with DOSH, DOE Act, rules, regulations and requirements.
• Experience in JKKP inspection and schedule waste management.
• Competent to handle for Safety, Environment and Hygiene.
• Results orientated person.
• Skills in MS Office and MRP/SAP
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Able to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of standing, walking, exposure to shop elements – noise, dust, odors, etc. 
• Capability to handle physical tasks involving lifting, carrying, and maneuvering around production machinery.
