QA ENGINEER - Hiring Urgently

Duties and responsibilities

CQE

1. Ensure subordinate carry out inspection (FA or outgoing) within timeline. 
2. Carry out continuous improvement activity within or inter departments. 
3. Window to customer on quality related issue. Ensure no delay in response or feedback. 
4. Follow up and audit CAPA effectiveness & conduct quality review meeting with SQE (if supplier issue) or internal (production and engineering). 
5. Establish quality check sheet and/or work instruction for subordinates to follow.
6. Conduct training to subordinates and ensure skill matrix of subordinates are refreshed and updated.
7. Monitor outgoing or FA performance and drive for improvement (worst hitters).
8. Follow up on customer return – collection, rework and return. Reply corrective/ preventive action to customer and monitor new lot quality performance. 
9. Conduct production line audit and identify areas for improvement. 
10. Work with NPI / engineering for new product development study, including inspection, FMEA etc. 
11. Liaise with customer for on-site FA buyoff, routine audit, and/or dispatch RE or technician for rework at customer premises.
12. Identify root cause(s) and work with production or technical team for improvement (aim for poke yake or error proofing solution).
13. Establish internal quality standards or catalogues as guidelines for subordinates and operation team. 
14. Perform any other duties as assigned by superior when it is deemed necessary from time to time.  

SQE

1. Ensure subordinates carry out incoming inspection within timeline. 
2. Lead the QA team in First Article evaluation either from supplier or sub-contractor.
3. Carry out continuous improvement activity with subordinates or with suppliers!
4. Work with related department to conduct evaluation or auditing of new suppliers or sub-contractors.
5. Follow up supplier CAPA effectiveness & conduct quality review meeting with supplier.
6. Establish quality check plan and/or work instruction for subordinates to follow.
7. Ensure training and skill matrix of incoming subordinates are refreshed and updated.
8. Monitor supplier performance and drive for improvement (worst hitters).
9. Follow up supplier return / replace goods and monitor next lot quality issue. 
10. Track and monitor MRB inventory, ensure not exceed specified duration.
11. Maintain good documentation, timely and correct NAV entry.
12. Guard band incoming to ensure minimal supplier rejects reaching internal shop floor. 
13. Monthly MRB report submission.
14. Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regular reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.
15. Primary contact between company with supplier on quality issue
16. Establish short – term and long –term quality goal to supplier.
17. Lead quality meeting with suppliers, develop and monitor continuous improvement plan
18. Responsible for supplier corrective action, deviation approval and periodic supplier feedback.
19. Initiate and follow up on all incoming material, FA request and liaise with supplies.
20. Travel to supplier sites should be expected part of implementation of improvement program and continuous monitoring of supplier program.
21. Monitor report on quality matrix and program toward quality goal includes monthly supplier performance.
22. Develop long time supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas.
23. Aide manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier material following a defined new product development process.

IPQC

• Ensure subordinate carry out inspection (in-process or FA part) within timeline with right measuring tool and method. Carry out continuous improvement activity within or inter departments. 
• Ensure no escapees of poor product to next process through e-NCMR issuance – quarantine, identify, rework and or disposal of non-conforming parts. 
• Work closely with CQE to have latest update of process checksheet, quality standards and work instructions for subordinates to follow suit. 
• Conduct training to subordinates and ensure skill matrix of subordinates are refreshed and updated.
• Monitor IPQC performance (NCMR tracking) and drive for improvement through Quality Tree activity (top 3 hitters to provide improvement plans).
• Follow up and ensure non-conforming parts are disposed on time through rework or scrap.   
• Conduct production line audit and provide improvement actions in quality corner board. 
• Identify root cause(s) and work with production or technical team for improvement (aim for poke yake or error proofing solution).
• Conduct CPK measurement and or SPC trend chart if requested. 
• Ensure ISO standards and documentations are adhered to, particularly for the records as used by IPQC inspector or technician. 
• Follow up and ensure closure of e-NCMR. 
• Perform any other duties as assigned by superior when it is deemed necessary from time to time. 

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma with experience in the field and with minimum > 3 years related working experience.
• Experience in quality system, quality assurance or similar role.
• Candidate with sheet metal knowledge & understanding will be an added advantage.
• Good communication skills and with prior knowledge of supplier audit and management.
• Knowledge and skill part measurement using CMM, Scope, Digital Caliper, Pin Gauge, etc.
• Knowledge of Supplier Quality and Process Improvement.
• Knowledge of SPC, PPAP, ISO9001, ISO 14001, MSA, and Quality tools.
• Good understanding of manufacturing process like plating, powder, machining process in details. Defects and Remedies in processes.
