Position Overview:

The QA/QC Manager in the building construction field is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the construction project lifecycle. They ensure that construction activities comply with established quality standards and regulations, aiming to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement QA/QC Procedures: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance and quality control procedures for all construction phases, from planning to project completion.
• Quality Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and specifications. Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Inspection and Testing: Coordinate and conduct regular inspections and quality tests on materials, workmanship, and construction processes. Identify deviations from quality standards and recommend corrective actions.
• Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of all quality-related activities, including inspection reports, test results, non-conformities, and corrective actions. Prepare and submit quality documentation to stakeholders as required.
• Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Evaluate the quality performance of suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. Establish quality criteria for materials and subcontracted work, and ensure compliance through audits and assessments.
• Quality Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to project team members on quality assurance and quality control practices. Promote a culture of quality consciousness and awareness throughout the project organization.
• Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks and proactively develop risk mitigation strategies. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to address quality-related issues and minimize project disruptions.
• Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance overall project quality and efficiency.
• Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related inquiries and concerns from clients and regulatory authorities. Communicate project quality status, issues, and resolutions effectively to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Advanced certifications in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager) are a plus.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in quality assurance and quality control roles within the building construction industry, with a focus on commercial or residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations.
• Excellent understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and quality control tools and techniques.
• Proficient in conducting quality inspections, tests, and audits, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools for documentation and reporting.
