Penerangan Pekerjaan - QASHE Coordinator (SE)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

 

Developing and Implementing IMS Policies:

  • To assist QASHE Lead to formulate quality, safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Implement strategies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Act as document controller for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.

 

Risk Assessment and Management:

  • Identify potential hazards in the workplace.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.

 

Training and Awareness:

  • Organize training programs for employees on safety protocols and environmental awareness.

  • Ensure that all staff are aware of and adhere to safety and environmental standards.

  • Conduct a monthly QASHE meeting with the main contractors and prepare a monthly minute’s meeting.

  • Conduct OSH induction for new staff or re-training and update the QASHE induction slides.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with QASHE Lead, management, employees, and external stakeholders on OSHE issues.

  • Communicate OSHE policies and initiatives effectively across the organization.

 

Emergency Preparedness:

  • To assist on the development and implementation of emergency response plans.

  • To assist and conduct on the drills to ensure readiness in case of emergencies.

 

Incident Investigation:

  • Investigate accidents, near misses, or incidents to determine the causes and prevent recurrence.

  • Maintain records of incidents and produce reports for management review.

Safety Audits and Inspections:

  • Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify safety and environmental concerns.

  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Conduct a monthly OSH site inspection using the SHASSIC assessment and prepare a monthly report.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay updated on changes in OSHE regulations and ensure organizational compliance.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.

  • Renewal of the CIDB green cards, PMA, and PMT certificates (if any).

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in OSHE performance.

  • Implement initiatives to enhance safety culture and environmental practices.

  • Collect and update monthly total manpower records.

  • To assist QASHE Lead in carrying on any matters pertaining to safety and health, and the environment of the place of work.

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

It shall be the duty of a QASHE Coordinator (OSHE)

(a) to ensure the Project Safety Plan for construction is established and implemented by the main contractor.

 

(b) to advise the employer or any person in charge of a place of work – on the measures to be taken in the interests of the safety and health of the persons employed in the place of work.

 

(c) to inspect the place of work – to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliances or process or any description of manual labour used in the place of work, is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work.

 

(d) to investigate any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease – which has happened in the place of work.

 

(e) to assist the employer or the safety and health committee, if any, pursuant to Regulation 11 of the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Committee) Regulations 1996 in organizing and implementing an occupational safety and health programme at the place of work.

 

(f) to become secretary to the safety and health committee, if any, as specified under

Sub-regulation 6(2) of the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Committee) Regulations 1996 and perform all functions of a secretary as specified in that Regulations.

 

(g) to assist the safety and health committee in any inspection of the place of work for the purposes of checking the effectiveness and efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with the Act or any regulations made under the Act.

 

(h) to collect, analyse and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning and occupational disease which have occurred at the place of work.

 

(i) to assist any officer in carrying made by the employer or any person in charge of the place of work on any matters pertaining to the safety and health of the place of work.
