REPORTING ACCOUNTANT

Work Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS, MFRS).
2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting obligations (e.g., PLC filings, tax reporting).
3. Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
4. Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
5. Internal Controls: Assess and strengthen internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial reporting and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
7. Technical Accounting: Research and interpret accounting standards and regulations to address complex accounting issues and transactions.
8. Communication: Effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders, including management, investors, and regulatory authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification or member of MIA preferred.
2. Experience: 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, preferably in a Malaysian public listed company or a multinational corporation operating in Malaysia.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
4. Knowledge: Thorough understanding of accounting principles and standards, including US GAAP or IFRS and MFRS.
5. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to financial reporting, such as PLC regulations and tax laws.
6. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
7. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
8. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate financial information and analysis to various stakeholders.
9. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to achieve common goals.
10. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements and priorities in a dynamic environment.
