RESORT PROPERTY MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR - Energetic Workplace

Bukit Gita Bayu is a premier residential located in the south fringes of Kuala Lumpur that prides itself on community-centred living in a natural tropical space.   It is planned as a low-density development sprawling over 118-acres of land.   It is the home to bungalows, residential strata villas, villa condominiums and townhouses.   

THE ROLE

We are seeking for a competent Resort Property Maintenance Supervisor for the maintenance in our facilities. This is a hands-on working and supervising position.  You will be responsible for scheduling, working with and training foreign and local workers and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations.   You will also be required to supervise work done by outside contractors when necessary.  

An excellent maintenance supervisor must be reliable and have a great eye for detail. They must have technical skills and working understanding of various crafts such as carpentry, plumbing, drainage, electricity, roadworks, etc. Leadership and ability to do administrative tasks such as scheduling are also essential.   The goal is to ensure that our extensive facilities are in a good and safe condition at all times.   

The role shall report to the General Manager – Property Services.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance;
• Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work;
• Recruit, supervise and train maintenance staff;
• Supervise tradesmen/contractors during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, roof tilers, carpenters, etc.);
• Inspect and maintain building systems (electrical, plumbing, ventilation etc.);
• Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance;
• Monitor inventory of materials and equipment;
• Participate in design and coordination of projects (e.g. renovations or uplift of areas);
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
• Extensive inspection of resort residential development facilities periodically to determine problems and initiate necessary maintenance;
• Preparation of weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work;
• Supervising and training maintenance crew.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND AND ABILITIES

• Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role;
• Good technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, plumbing, etc.) as well as external works (outdoor landscape electrical and street lighting, drainage and plumbing, road works and pathways, pools, concrete, painting and plastering, tiling, timber works, etc.);
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations;
• Understanding of budgeting and performance management;
• Good planning and leadership abilities;
• An eye for detail;
• Proficiency in the use of computer;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and English;
• Diploma or Degree from a leading technical and vocational education and training will be a plus;
• Over 10 years experience, preferably in resort or residential environment.
