Rigger (Oil & Gas Projects)

We support leading companies by sourcing skilled professionals to meet their project and operational needs. For this role, we are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable oil and gas company operating in Malaysia.

This position is essential to ensuring that all lifting, rigging, and load-handling activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with international quality and safety standards. It is ideal for candidates with hands-on rigging experience who are motivated to contribute to the success of large-scale oil and gas fabrication projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, and set up lifting equipment according to rigging plans and supervisor’s instructions.
  
• Select and use proper slings, shackles, chains, and other rigging gear.
  
• Signal crane operators and coordinate lifting activities for safe and efficient load movement.
  
• Assist supervisors and foremen in planning and executing rigging operations.
  
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, including lifting procedures and hazard controls.
  
• Report any equipment faults, unsafe conditions, or near-miss incidents to supervisors.
  
• Maintain rigging tools and lifting gear in good working condition.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of working experience in rigging or lifting operations.
  
• Strong knowledge of safe rigging practices and lifting procedures.
  
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy loads.
  
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly with crane operators and team members.
  
• Team-oriented, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
  

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Possession of a valid Rigging and Slinging Certificate.
  
• Familiarity with heavy fabrication yard operations.
  
• Knowledge of basic crane signaling hand gestures.
  
• Experience working in oil & gas or shipyard environments.
  
• Ability to read and understand lifting plans and basic engineering drawings.
  

What We Offer

• Competitive salary: RM15 per hour.
  
• Steady working hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
