Job Description

  • Standardization and Harmonization:
    • Develop and implement standardized financial processes and procedures across all business units served by the shared service center.
    • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and practices.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and distribution of consolidated financial reports for multiple business units.
    • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close Processes:
    • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for various entities within the shared service scope.
    • Coordinate with different business units to ensure timely and accurate completion of closing activities.
  • General Ledger Management:
    • Supervise the maintenance of the general ledger for all entities within the shared service center.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Compliance and Audit:
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures across all serviced entities.
    • Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Process Improvement and Automation:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline processes and reduce manual efforts.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing consolidated financial data and analysis.
    • Assist in variance analysis and financial modeling for different business units.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business unit leaders, finance teams, and other shared service functions, to ensure cohesive financial management.
    • Provide financial insights and support to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Technical Accounting Skills: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and financial analysis.
  • Leadership and Management: Strong leadership skills to manage and develop a team effectively.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders and convey financial information clearly.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Technological Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Excel; familiarity with automation tools is a plus.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and processes within a shared service environment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA, or equivalent).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in General Ledger and Reporting functions.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience, leading a team of 10 headcount.
    • Experience working in a shared service center environment.
    • Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and team members.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
