Job Description:

We seek a committed Safety and Health Manager with a primary focus on health & safety, complemented by expertise in dangerous goods and business continuity. This role involves spearheading safety and health initiatives in Malaysia, ensuring adherence to regulations, and devising strategies for dangerous goods and business continuity. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and enhancement of comprehensive safety and health programs in Malaysia in line with global objectives.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations such as the Occupational Safety and Health Act, as well as regulations concerning dangerous goods handling and business continuity planning.
• Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend preventive measure
• Provide guidance and support to employees and management in Malaysia on health and safety matters, including training and emergency response procedures.
• Manage the handling, storage, and transportation of dangerous goods in Malaysia, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Foster relationships with regulatory authorities like the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) in Malaysia to ensure timely compliance and inspections.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business continuity plans to mitigate disruptions.
• Coordinate with the Head to align strategies and share updates on safety initiatives in Malaysia.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to safety, dangerous goods, and business continuity.
• Provide expertise and support in achieving and maintaining ISO 45001 certification, including conducting internal audits.
   

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH in Malaysia.
• 7-10 years of experience as a Safety and Health Manager, preferably in manufacturing or logistics.
• Strong expertise in health & safety management with a proven track record of implementing safety programs.
• Familiarity with dangerous goods handling requirements and business continuity planning.
• Additional experience in ISO 45001 / ISO 22301 implementation and certification is advantageous.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and safety management systems.
