Safety & Health Officer, Project

What you will do:

• To handle and/or supervise all safety, including health awareness at site/office in accordance with the Occupational Operational Safety and Health Act (OSHA 1994-Act 514), Factories and Machinery Act (BOWEC Regulation) 1996 and any related updated of OSH legislation.
• Ensure all personnel, including subcontractor workers, comply with safety requirements at site/office through verbal advice or written notice.
• Implement all procedures and practices as per the company’s and client’s safety policy.
• Provide assistance for safety before and during internal/external audits by ensuring all related documents at the site are regularly updated.

How you will do it:

• To promote a safe conduct of work.
• Responsible for implementing the requirements of the Safety Management System (site and office).
  • To raise Safety Management System awareness through induction and training
  • To ensure compliance by workers and subcontractors
  • To update Safety Management System to reflect the changes in work situation
• Prepare, review and ontain approval for all safety documentation eg HIRARC and Job Hazard Analysis before its execution.
• Endorsement of various permit of work system at the workplace. Review all permit in force.
• Conduct site safety inspection and recommend corrective action
• Liaise with the DOSH, Police and other relevant government agencies on health, safety and security matters.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and other departments to achieve company objectives.
• Participate in project meetings and report progress.
• Support system configuration, testing, commissioning and handing over to client.
• Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned by superior.

What we look for:

• Valid Green Book holder registered with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) is a must.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Greenbook holder, with construction site and/or assignment exposure. Experience in Security System or ELV System related industries is helpful.
• Familiar with standard concepts and best practices for construction/substation/environment for both safety and administration
• Good written in English and Bahasa and verbal communication skills with both internal and external.
• Have knowledge on:-
  • OSH Legislations and continuously improving to ensure sustained compliance
  • Occupational Risk Assessment,
  • Preparation of Safe Operating Procedure, monitoring the effectiveness of control measures,
  • Encouraging worker’s participation.
• Strong team player and ability to multi-task
• Willingness and ability to travel, including nationwide travel/ temporary relocation to client sites
