Safety & Health Officer - Growth-Minded Organization

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Implement and maintain the Company’s Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health (QESH) Management System to ensure that it is in compliance with relevant statutory requirements at all times, including the International Standards, local regulations, code of practices and legal requirements.
2. Assist to ensure the effective implementation of construction planning activity from pre-contract to construction is in conformance to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
3. Liaise with relevant authorities on planning of environmental, safety and health matters for construction activities from pre-contract to post-construction to meet legal requirements, Company’s objectives and policy.
4. Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure that any ESH matter is resolved promptly and effectively.
5. Liaise with relevant internal and external parties on documentation issues (e.g., discrepancy on the documents) pertaining to ESH.
6. Provide sound advice and guidance to support the effective operations of the QESH Management System and provide coordination of the field support for ESH personnel.
7. Assist in preparing the summary of QESH Management System implementation for the Management Review Meeting.
8. Assist to continually improve the QESH Management System by coordinating and/ or conducting regular internal audits, awareness briefings, campaigns, trainings and induction programme.
9. Provide accurate interpretation of QESH Management requirements and regulations for the functional managers.
10. Participate and coordinate in Workplace ESH Committee Meetings.
11. Act as Secretary for the Workplace ESH Committee Meeting.
12. Continually promote awareness of client requirements as well as Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health (QESH) practices throughout the Company and ensure that it is observed and adhered by the Company and relevant parties at all times.
13. Assist the Head of Department in managing and coordinating project level ESH implementation.
14. Ensure that the coordination of environmental, safety and health related matters at project site(s) are in line with the statutory requirements at all times.
15. Conduct routine inspections, hazard identifications, risk assessments and risk control measures at workplace.
16. Coordinate and conduct accident/incident investigations and enforce preventive measures where necessary or in the event of an accident.
17. Prepare and submit accurate reports on ESH statistics and records to Person-In-Charge and/or Head of Department on a timely basis.
18. Efficiently and effectively monitor ESH Management Programme implementation and update relevant ESH documents where necessary.

Requirements:-

1. To at least possess a Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety and Health
2. Candidate must possess a Valid Green Book
