Responsibilities
- Provide HSE technical advice and oversee HSE management at Penang plant
- Monitor progress against established KPIs and targets and support the plant in meeting the goals and targets in sustainability and HSE
- Develop strategies and plans to roll-out corporate policies and procedures and support the plant in the implementation
- Assure compliance to internal HSE policies and applicable local regulations through site visits, inspections, audits, and/or coordination of HSE audits
- Develop and deliver HSE training, education and awareness in support of policies and/or initiatives where applicable within the business
- Monitor and interpret applicable and emerging HSE regulatory changes in country and develop appropriate strategies for implementation
- Represent the company in external business interests and positions through organizational networking, building relationships with appropriate regulatory agencies, industry, etc
- Benchmark HSE performance with the industry and recommend improvements to raise the standards
- Lead in major incident investigations including but not limited to injuries, environmental releases, fires, and explosions and recommend appropriate preventive actions
- Communicate and share lessons from HSE incidents that impact on company operations in a timely, thorough, and effective manner
- Responsible for HSE talent management and mentoring, HSE development programs, goal setting, performance appraisals, and succession planning
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
- At least 10 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Has depth knowledge of HSE management systems (ISO 14001 & ISO 45001)
- Must has Greenbook Holder
