Managing the customer / supplier relationship to achieve optimum cooperation and goodwill between the companies. Responsible for collaborating with all disciplines of the organization to ensure that Ferrotec’s interests are well represented and that the customers’ needs are understood, planned for, and responded to in a timely manner. Other responsibilities are including but not limited to:

  • Sales – Primary responsibility is to generate revenue and increase market and/or customer share of business by identifying and selling to prospective accounts through research and networking. Activities include program management, account development and establishing key relationships. Meet assigned revenue and profitability targets. Defines and negotiates legal contracts with customers.
  • Account Management – Maintains relationships for new and existing accounts in order to protect and grow existing business opportunities. This includes developing key account plans to align resources to support company growth objectives with major customers/opportunities.   To proactively conducts strategic account reviews with all assigned customers on a regular basis to review service needs and usage trends. Provide the required input for defining the strategic plan and development of technical roadmaps. 
  • Product – Identifies the need for new products. Works with Marketing, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D to assist in new product development initiatives targeted to the needs of the key account(s). Able to respond to functional and technical elements of RFQs. 
  • Manufacturing – generates both short-term and long-term rolling forecasts for revenue and optimized product/volume mix. 
  • Marketing Communications – Gives input to the marketing group to support the goal of establishing and implementing promotional, advertising, and communication strategies. Work closely with the Marketing team to define the relevant business environment by conducting market assessments, benchmarks and competitor analysis.
  • Competition – Benchmarks our products with the competition from a technical and business perspective. Monitors competitive forces that could compromise our position.  To provide relevant market information and customer expectations to the company management and initiate corrective action if needed.
  • Managing associated costs as defined by the cost center budget and working cross functionally to ensure that budgeted gross margins are achieved. 
  • Develops and monitors KPIs to monitor customer satisfaction based on the agreed commercial targets as stated in the sales plan. Reports achievements periodically based on the agreed KPIs.
  • Identifies products, services and cost and technology roadmaps that meet customer need and business objectives.

Job Requirement

  • BS degree or equivalent. 10+ years of professional experience including 5+ years of account management experience, preferably in the similar industry. 
  • Preferably in the field of Mechanical or Business Management with additional commercial courses and training.
  • Direct working knowledge of the industry-specific specifications and quality requirements from the industry being served.
  • Focused and detail-oriented with a “hands on” approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in particular English & Chinese), interpersonal skills and relationship building skills and capable of inspiring, motivate and achieve commitment from both our customer and employees.
  • Competent with the use of the Microsoft suite: Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Must be well organized, responsive and have excellent time management skills.
  • Electrical and/or mechanical aptitude a plus.
  • Requires language skills appropriate for business interactions.  
  • Strong ability to determine business drivers, create a strategy for driving growth, and work with internal and external resources to bring that strategy to life. 
  • Substantial relationship building and team building abilities are required.
  • Time traveling is estimated to be no more than 50%. 
  • Proven track record in of prospecting new customers and generating revenues from new customers as well as to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships.
  • Proven leadership competences by showing determination in achieving excellent results and showing determination to win.
  • Shows experiences in business/sales planning and execution and knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management.
  • Shows sound understanding of the market and external environment and the ability to translate this in clear business objectives.
  • Knowledgeable with hands-on experience in sales execution and account management processes, project management, manufacturing technologies and production logistics.
  • Good presentation skill for both large groups as well as individuals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills and finding ways to get the things done better, more efficiently and more effectively.
  • Demands achievement of high performance goals and standards, set examples, clarifies expectation and actively manages performances to ensure success.
