Job Purpose

  • To be responsible and accountable for the commercial/operational management of designated store, maximizing sales opportunities and minimizing losses.
  • To be an effective of the store management team and contribute to achieving the budget, goals and objectives set for the store.
  • To ensure al Companies’ policies and procedures are fully comply and implemented.
  • To manage a team, merchandises, efficient space management and ensuring the highest standards of service is offered.
  • To deputize the Commercial/Store Manager in his or her absence.

Job Responsibilities

1) Generating Sales

To maximizing sales and commercial opportunities in the following areas:

  • Maximize the sales return per square foot from the store by utilizing all the information and resources available effectively.
  • Increase average basket and overall transactions of the responsible business unit.
  • Actively implement sales promotions and follow the selling plan given by the Commercial Manager and Buyer.
  • Lead the team to manage seasonal change according to the seasonal guide provided and ensure high standard of merchandising display to promote better shopping experience and increase sales.
  • Analyses sales figure and seek ways to increase sales via looking into areas of strengths and weaknesses guided by commercial numbers and on floor observation.
  • Use stock management systems to ensure the optimum stock availability and proactive on following up of stocks to ensure ASR run is at optimal level, maintain correct BTF, inter-store transfer, close feedback and communication with merchandise team on stocks requirement, efficient movement of stocks within store i.e. receiving to floor and fitting room to floor.
  • Implement best practices following the commercial management toolkit as guide to better manage the commercial aspect of the store business.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve daily target set.

2) Customer Service

  • To ensure high standards of customer service is provided across the store by monitoring and implementing the Company’s service values
  • Provide a comfortable and convenient shopping environment by maintaining effective merchandise displays and clear ticketing
  • Provide a level of service on the sales floor that is welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable and when the customer wants it. Ensure all staff adhere to the service standards required.
  • Enable customers to pay quickly, efficiently, easily and with goodwill.
  • Handle all enquiries quickly and effectively in a helpful and friendly manner
  • Responding to customer complaints and comments.

3) Use of Space and Department Presentation

  • In liaison with the Commercial Manager, according to the clearance lists provided by the Merchandise team.
  • Make the best use of the space available by using the correct interpretation of commercial information and current merchandise group’s policies.
  • Work with the Visual Merchandising Department to ensure that the items planned to be promoted are given priority of display within the store.

  • Present the store in an attractive way, maintaining high standards throughout.
  • Maintain the planogram of store according to the layout/planogram planned.

4) Management of Merchandise

  • Maintain and monitor the supply of stock to the sales floor to ensure maximum return on the investment in inventory
  • Monitor the sales performance and be fully responsible for stock replenishment or returns
  • Plan and control stock levels held in the store stockrooms
  • Provide timely feedback to the Buyers on all appreciation and markdown action, including aged/slow selling merchandise and ensure effective clearance of stocks
  • Manage, control and supervise the store stock take exercise to ensure the accuracy of the result
  • Be responsible for good stock management to prevent unknown stock losses.

5) Operational Efficiency

  • Be responsible and ensure fully compliance of the standard SOP, procedures, rules and regulations and profit protection measures set by the company.
  • Minimize losses and maximize the profitability of the store by assisting in the achievement of agreed targets for staff costs, theft and loss and controllable expenses
  • Using all the available information, forward plan for seasonal changes in sales, covering, sales events and promotions, space and equipment needs and appropriate stock availability
  • Ensure that price changes are administered accurately
  • Adhere to legal and company regulations, policies and ensure company assets are safeguarded through implementing all policies relating to health and safety, security.
  • Be involved in setting and subsequently achieving store targets and objectives.

6) Managerial

  • Lead, motivate and mentor the team in achieving high level performance and productive.
  • Management of sales team including training needs of each individual team member, performance reviews and appraisals
  • Establish clear Ensure all communication from support team is shared with all tea mates
  • Plan his most suited work schedule of the team to ensure good coverage according to the business peaks
  • Support the store/commercial manager on cultivating and building a sales and service working culture in the store/working premise.

7) Cost Control

  • Support the commercial/sales manager effort in ensuring store operation expenses are in line with the budget allocation.

8) Others

  • Any such other duties which maybe assigned by Management from time to time.
