In your new role, you will join a dedicated team of experts to ideate, develop, and run solutions for the life cycle of an employee from Hire to Retire for BASF companies in Asia Pacific. As a team, you will have opportunities to support innovative and transformation projects, be involved in functional enhancements, and ensure uninterrupted operations.

Responsibilities and Key Outcomes 

Application Development and Support

  • Conduct meetings with the business to identify solutions and areas of improvement 
  • Translate business requirements to a feasible and sustainable design of the system 
  • Design and deliver the technical HR configurations and customization to meet any new or modified business process design and application requirements
  • Validate the design with the stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies the requirements.
  • Steer external providers to keep up their SLA and KPIs and maintain a high standard of quality in their deliverables
  • Ensure project deliveries are as per requirements and on time

  • Business Solution Design

  • Gather requirements and define a sustainable solution design and owns the solution design document – consists of current/new requirements specifications / functional design and architectural parts of high-level technical design. 
  • Drive for innovative solutions that fits into the global Hire to Retire portfolio and benefits the local HR stakeholders
  • Consulting on solution design for implementation of project requirements in accordance to the defined roadmap by Enterprise Architecture and ensure compliance with the BASF’s Cyber Security Framework and Data Protection guidelines.
  • Execution of studies in the preliminary stage of projects including evaluation of purchased software
  • Ensures overall quality assurance for solution designs For architectural integrity of BASF Group business solutions and application landscape For business solution design document in our area of expertise to ensure fit to a) Customer Requests, b) Process Architecture and c) IS Strategy & Enterprise Architecture d) BASF Cyber Security Framework e) Data Protection guidelines
  • Analyse, consult and optimize business process solutions including piloting/setup of new solutions/technology
  • Collaborate with different business partners, e.g. process architecture, IS strategy & enterprise architecture, internal customers (BEX communities, regional supply chain platforms, strategic supply chain management, business units and competence center)
  • Regular exchange and global alignment of solution design with other solution consultants in the regions
  • Job Requirements 


    Minimum requirement to carry out the work – you might want to point out “additional plus/nice to have skills” that are not mandatory

    Education and work experience

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant Business/IT studies with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role 
  • SAP HR/Success Factors certification preferred 
  • At least 5-7 years working experience with at least 2 implementations of payroll and time management with S4 environment.
  • Exposure to Success Factors cloud solutions (ie: Employee Central)
  • At least 3 years of HR processes in a global/regional based organisation
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge (mandatory)

  • Expert knowledge of the functionality of S4 Human Experience Management (HXM) applications and configuration, Success Factors Employee Central.
  • Experienced and familiar with end to end Hire to Retire processes
  • Knowledge with Workflow, BAPI, User-exits, Sapscript/Smartform, ABAP Queries,BADI, BDC will be added advantage
  • Any experience with API, CPI and Web Services will be added advantage
  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager and MS Azure
  • Familiar in Agile way of working or agile implementation approach
  • Success Factors Employee Central will be added advantage
  • Soft Skills

  • Good English skills (written and spoken)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in an international team combined with a very high level of customer orientation
  • Well-developed proactive and self-driven character 
  • Strong Digital mindset to accelerate BASF Digitalization transformation journey 
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge (additional plus/nice to have skills)

  • Familiar with low code, no code solutions
  • Familiar with Microsoft Co-pilot advantages
  • Familiar with other newer digital technology applicable for HR processes 
  • Comprehend usage of Regenerative AI /NLP for HR processes
