About Our Client

Our client, An MNC Oil and Gas Operator is looking for a new Section Head of Business Development. This will spearhead the formulation and execution of short and long-term strategies aligned with the overarching objectives of the Business and Services Division. Your primary responsibility will involve identifying, evaluating, and nurturing business opportunities to enhance value for the company and its stakeholders, while adhering to corporate agenda.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Opportunity Assessment:
   • Lead the comprehensive assessment of potential business opportunities, covering market dynamics, customer needs, and product feasibility.
   • Utilise established frameworks, procedures, and stakeholder networks to ensure thorough evaluation from pre-feasibility to decision-making stages.
2. Business Development and Growth:
   • Proactively identify and integrate business opportunities, leveraging data, capabilities, and partnerships to propose practical solutions that drive business growth.
   • Navigate implementation challenges, assess risks, and optimise profit potential to support our expansion efforts.
3. Market and Competitor Analysis:
   • Drive the development of market research and analysis frameworks to monitor internal and external business environments.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret strategic changes and inform management strategy formulation for timely decision-making.
4. Intragroup Value Management:
   • Lead initiatives to manage value within the organisation, ensuring minimal leakage and maximal creation across our subsidiaries.
5. Corporate Performance and Initiatives:
   • Develop and implement mid to long-term business initiatives, assessing risks and opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
6. Stakeholder Management:
   • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with government authorities, industry players, and service providers to capitalise on new business opportunities and enhance our reputation.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Business Administration from a reputable institution.
• Experience:
  • 10-15 years of operational experience in the downstream or petroleum industry.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with a deep understanding of top management roles and orientations.
