Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage General Accounting and Accounts Payable (AP) functions for our US distribution business. The successful candidate will ensure the accurate processing of invoices, timely collections, and effective management of vendor payments. This position is crucial for maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager in the Malaysia Office, and has to work on night shift with flexibility in the location of work. Less experienced candidate would be considered for the Accountant position. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full-cycle accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation, as well as general accounting and book keeping role.
• May have to help with accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices.
• Maintain accurate records and control reports to monitor AR and AP activities.
• Resolve discrepancies and issues related to billing and payments.
• Prepare and process monthly journal entries for AR and AP accounts.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations.
• Assist in audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in AR and AP functions.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. A big plus for candidates with prior experience in US GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel. Working knowledge of Jedox and JD Edwards is a plus.
• Ability to work under the US Eastern Standard time zone is essential.
• Proficiency in English is a must.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.
• Experience in a multinational company is a plus.
